I am not a fan of using AI. This past school year, I've only used it when directly asked to in my classes. I'm not interested in using AI because I can come up with better ideas myself, and I don't trust AI to not hallucinate information.
However, I will acknowledge that it can be useful at times. Here are three examples of work I've done with a bit of AI assistance.
This is a website I created about YA novels. The article text was generated using ChatGPT and then edited and fact-checked by me. It was convenient, but I still prefer to write my own things.
I also used ChatGPT this semester to find sources and databases to look for credible information for an infographic I made about banned books.
I used AI for an in-class assignment in MEJO 187 when my group and I were tasked with designing a website for a fake company. In this case, it was a "treehouse hotel" company called Nestaway. We first generated ideas on the demographics, ideal colors, and fonts ourselves and then asked ChatGPT to generate the same things and compare them. We then made a "style tile", featured below, representing key brand colors and adjectives.
